The Topic on the Table
How do our cultural identities show up in the food that we eat? How have we carried parts of home with us through the cities and spaces that we've lived in?

That's the topic on the table at Sunday Afternoon Supper Club at Ashs Plek.
About the Restaurant
Raised in London with Jamaican heritage, Ashley Mitchell is the Head Chef and Creator of Ashs Plek: a pop-up restaurant serving authentic Jamaican food in a dinner party style from cosy living room locations in Amsterdam.
The concept started in Ash's living room in Amsterdam where he hosted new friends for dinner as a way to create community in his new city through delicious food, laughter and great conversations.
Every week, Ashs Plek hosts a dinner party offering diners a 3-course set menu serving authentic, Jamaican cuisine and the opportunity to meet new connections in the city. There is always a vegan set menu available too so everybody is welcome.
All bookings require €10 deposit to secure your seat.

Why a supper club?
We're passionate about 3 things. Good conversation, good food and good times.
We strongly believe that some of the most interesting and insightful conversations happen over the dinner table. This supper club isn't only a chance for you to taste some of the most delicious food your city has to offer - our goal is to bring people together to talk to one another.

How does it work?
Imagine you're at a book club, there's a theme of discussion - that's our topic on the table. Now, take away the books and add food, drinks, good music.

The Sunday Afternoon Supper Club features a topic on the table which our host will guide you through during the night using a variety of prompts and conversation starters. Our goal isn't to force everyone to talk to each other, but rather to encourage conversation with the people you're sitting around the table with.

Come with an open mind, open ears and an empty stomach!

Table Manners
Whilst we strongly believe that you can have a great conversation with a stranger, we also know that some conversations are best had with family and friends.
As we invite you to our table you remember to be kind, open and understanding.
Listen with curiosity and question with kindness.
